BVSD Considers New Calendar Options
The Boulder Valley School District is considering making changes to the school calendar. They have proposed three options for people to vote on:
Calendar A: This would involve a late August start, and finishing the first semester at winter break. This would mean a shorter first semester and a longer second semester.
Calendar B: This option also includes a late August start, with first semester ending in mid-January. There would be a better balance in days between each semester.
Calendar C: This option would mean starting school after Labor Day. First semester would end three weeks after students return from winter break, meaning that High School finals would be in January.
There will be two community meetings next month for "stakeholders who want to interact in person with calendar committee members and district administration." The dates and locations are:
Wednesday, Dec. 12, 6-7:30 p.m., Broomfield High School Library
Thursday, Dec. 13, 10:30 a.m.-noon, YMCA at 95th and Arapahoe (Blue Room)
