The Most Interesting Person at Fairview
Recently, Royal Banner reporters discovered one of the most fascinating and talented students to ever attend Fairview. His name: Gene Morgan. Morgan is a 13-year-old senior who is taking seven IB classes and attends CU for his Advanced Calculus-Based Theoretical Physics class during his lunch period.
Morgan is more popularly known as “Gene the Mean Machine” for his wrestling talents. He practices wrestling from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and then he does his homework from 12:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m.
When asked about expectations for this upcoming wrestling season, Morgan said,
“I am hoping to win the World Wrestling Championship that is held in England, Arkansas.”
Morgan is also pursuing the IB Diploma in his studies.
“I think the Diploma is a great way for students to push themselves, I think I’ve really grown as a person due to the workload, now, can you excuse me? I have to finish, like 50 assignments,” said Morgan, as he chugged his ninth triple espresso of the day.
While it might seem like Morgan is completely in control of his workload, he shows that he does have to de-stress and relax at some point.
Morgan is a member of all twelve Fairview choirs and is an active participant in all of them.
“I just love music and drama,” said Morgan. “Music has always been one of my 113 favorite things to do, so I really just have to make the time for it.”
Morgan has worked hard to get to where he is, and he plans to continue his workload into college.
As he says, “who knows what the future may hold?”
