The Worst Super Bowl Ever
On Sunday February 5th, millions of people will gather around their televisions to watch the annual Super Bowl. This year, the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons will meet in Houston, Texas to crown this year's champion.Typically, the Super Bowl is a highlight of the sporting year. This will be the 51st time that the best two teams in the NFL will play a game to decide who is crowned champion.
Last year, the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers met in Santa Clara, California to battle for the championship. I am a huge Broncos fan so I like the Super Bowl. However, it wasn’t that special. It was one of the worst Super Bowls I have experienced in my lifetime.
The Patriots are a familiar name to most sports fans as they seem to be in the Super Bowl so often. The terrific tandem of Quarterback, Tom Brady and Head Coach, Bill Belichick are back in a Super Bowl for the 7th time.
On the opposing sideline stands Matt Ryan and the surprise Atlanta Falcons. They started off this past season with 100-1 odds of making the Super Bowl but here they are. They have made one Super Bowl in their franchise history. Most casual sports fans don’t really know the Atlanta Falcons because for the most part, they haven’t been good.
I hope this turns out to be a good game but sadly I think it will be a blowout. I really hope that the underdog Falcons can pull of a miracle and at least keep it close but I think the more realistic thing is that the Patriots storm their way to another title.
The thing is, I’d like to root for the Falcons but they aren’t likeable. Matt Ryan is overrated in my opinion. Sure, he had a great season but he is a product of Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan’s system. Also, he has a plethora of amazing weapons to throw the ball to. He will win MVP this year but he isn’t as good as people think he is. Also, he has no charisma or star power. The Falcons don’t even have a real defense besides stud pass rusher, Vic Beasley Jr.
The Patriots are the better football team and should really win this game. The sad thing about this game is that I don’t know who to root for. I have despised the Patriots for 16 years but I might be rooting for them.
I don’t really know how the game will turn out and I hope it is close. However, I couldn’t care less of who could win this game even though it is one of the biggest sporting events of the year. I have seen some great Super Bowls and some not-so-great Super Bowls and I think this Super Bowl might be the worst Super Bowl I have ever watched.
