Hey Colorado, do you know that you have a fantastic basketball team? The Denver Nuggets have been incredible this season with a 40-18 record and are ranked 1st in the West and 3rd in the league.

Their star center, Nikola Jokic, has had another excellent season, raking in 20 triple-doubles. According to NBC Sports, he also has -350 odds this year to win MVP, which could mean he would win it 3 times in a row, a feat that has not happened in over 35 years.

Although Jokic is undoubtedly the highlight of Denver’s squad, other players also stand out. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was a great pickup for Denver last summer, and was even labeled by coach Michael Malone as the “missing piece” for Denver’s team. Jamal Murray, despite dealing with multiple recent injuries, is capable of putting up more than 20 points per game.

Denver’s coach, Michael Malone, has also been a critical component of the Nuggets team, receiving one of the head coaching positions  in the all-star game this year. Including this year, he has led the Nuggets to six consecutive winning seasons.

Even though there is plenty to like about the Nuggets, there is still a very long road to the Finals. Denver has some significant threats in the West that they will have to defeat. The Suns, who just traded for Kevin Durant, look to be even more dangerous. Memphis is also looking hot, with great performances from their star point guard Ja Morant. There are also the Warriors, who you can never count out. And finally, there are the Kings, who have had a surprisingly good season despite lacking superstar talent.

Regardless of the challenges ahead, the Nuggets have a great team that all Coloradans should pay attention to.
