Baylor ended Gonzaga’s quest for a perfect season last night with a crushing 86-70 victory over the . Baylor did an incredible job of capitalizing on the Bulldogs’ turnovers, creating 19 points on 14 Gonzaga turnovers. Gonzaga’s Drew Timme was held to just 12 points and racked up 5 turnovers after dominating throughout the tournament. Though Jalen Suggs managed to eek out 22 points, he wasn’t able to pull off the magic we saw at the end of the Gonzaga-UCLA game.

According to Alex Burr of NCAA.com, the Bulldogs are only “the third team in this history of the tournament to lose [their} perfect record in the championship game.” Given the miracle we saw in the game between UCLA and Gonzaga, it was tough to see the Bulldogs end the season on such a disappointing note.

Nonetheless, according to ESPN’s Doug Kezirian, Gonzaga remains the favorite for the 2022 men’s college basketball title and their previous two opponents, Baylor and UCLA, listed as second and third, respectively. Regardless of how this season ended for them, the future is bright for the Bulldogs.
